Walker man sentenced for arson

WALKER– A 20-year-old Walker man was sentenced Monday to one year in the county jail and five years of probation for arson in the first degree.

According to the Cass County Attorney’s Office, the probation requires Ryder Schlagel to pay over $53,000 in restitution, $28,000 of which has already been paid.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case which involved a garage-type structure that was intentionally burned down.
