Weekend Bemidji Blotter 10/25-10/27

The following is a summary of incidents the Bemidji Police Department and the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office responded to over the weekend of Friday, Oct. 25 through Sunday, Oct. 27.

Bemidji Police

Sunday, Oct. 27

Assault, 10:32 p.m.

Officers responded to domestic assault on the 3900 block of Irvine Avenue. One 34-year-old male arrested for multiple charges.

Suspicious, 9:35 p.m.

Officers responded to a trespass issue on the 600 block of 22nd Street, upon arrival, a 33-year-old male was located and arrested on multiple charges.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 7:07 p.m.

Officer responded to a traffic hazard of boxes in the roadway on the 1200 block of Paul Bunyan Drive, upon arrival no boxes or hazards were located.

Assault, 6:58 p.m.

Report of domestic violence on Delton Avenue NW. Charges forwarded to the County Attorney.

Theft, 6:35 p.m.

Officer took a report of a theft from vehicle on the 3900 block of Irvine Avenue, upon arrival the items had been returned and nothing was missing. No further assistance was needed.

Harassment, 6:21 p.m.

Male called into dispatch seven times within an hour wanting to “hob-knob” with the Sergeant. Subject was warned for misuse of an emergency line. No further calls were received.

Suspicious, 2:54 p.m.

Report of a verbal dispute between subjects involved in a relationship. Complainant was concerned about property at a residence near Tenstrike. Complainant was advised.

Report of vehicle tampering on the 1200 block of Minnesota avenue.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints 10:36 a.m.

Report of a vehicle which had been tampered with on the 3500 block of Tamarack Avenue.

Welfare Check, 4:36 a.m.

Two were arrested on Pine Ridge Avenue for child endangerment.

Assault, 2:38 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of an assault on Birch Lane and 17th Street NE.

Assault, 2:33 a.m.

Report of assault on the 100 block of 3rd Street. Victim was spoken to, did not wish to press any charges.

Disturbing the Peace, 1:57 a.m.

Officers responded to a report of a party involving minor and alcohol/drug use on the 1300 block of 3rd Street SE. Citations issued and two were arrested.

DWI, 1:01 a.m.

Adult female arrested for DWI on the 100 block of 3rd Street.

Assist, 12:27 a.m.

Officer assisted State Patrol on a traffic stop on 5th Street NW and Bemidji Avenue. One 40-year-old woman was arrested.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Disorderly Conduct, 10:51 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Walborg Avenue NE. One adult male was arrested.

Disorderly Conduct, 10:42 p.m.

Request to remove several intoxicated individuals from a restaurant on the 1900 block of Paul Bunyan Drive. Subject left prior to Officer’s arrival.

Welfare Check, 9:00 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of people jumping into a trunk of a vehicle and drove off, upon arrival to the area gone on arrival/unable to locate.

Other, 8:45 p.m.

Adult female on a protective hold fled from ER. Subject was located and returned.

Suspicious, 8:17 p.m.

Officers responded to a person ringing door bells and running away on 12th Street NW, upon arrival to the area gone on arrival/unable to locate.

DWI, 7:25 p.m.

Adult female arrested for DWI on 30th Street NW.

Drugs, 5:38 p.m.

Officer responded to a local business on Paul Bunyan Drive to pick up and discard found marijuana, placed into evidence for disposal of the marijuana.

Property Damage, 3:59 p.m.

Vehicle gone through on the 800 block of 9th Street NW but nothing missing overnight.

Theft, 1:32 p.m.

Vehicle entered on the 1200 block of Norton Avenue NW overnight. No suspects.

Drugs, 1:23 p.m.

Used hypodermic needle collected from the 700 block of Scott Avenue SE for disposal.

Theft, 1:15 p.m.

Theft from vehicle on the 500 block of Wood Avenue SE.

Theft, 11:52 a.m.

DJI Inspire 1 drone stolen from passenger compartment of parked motor vehicle on the 1400 block of Delton Avenue NW.

Theft, 9:40 a.m.

Report of a stolen wallet on the 1900 block of Delton Avenue NW.

Suspicious, 10:43 a.m.

Caller had video of subjects in his yard on Calihan Avenue at 4 a.m. Video added to case file.

Theft, 9:40 a.m.

Window smashed, purse stolen from parked motor vehicle on the 2600 block of Birchmont Drive NE. Purse recovered in neighbor’s yard.

Property Damage, 9:36 a.m.

Caller reported vehicle rummaged through, window broken sometime during the previous night/early morning on the 2700 block of Calihan Avenue NE.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 9:10 a.m.

Caller reported pickup was rummaged through the previous night though nothing was missing on the 300 block of 27th Street NE. Cinder blocks taken from back of truck, used to break windows on neighbor’s vehicles.

Disorderly Conduct, 2:55 a.m.

Fight complaint on the 800 block of 26th Street NW. An adult female was arrested on two out of county warrants.

DWI, 2:07 a.m.

Adult female arrested for an outstanding warrant and DWI on 4th Street SE and Paul Bunyan Drive SE.

Suspicious, 1:55 a.m.

Report of suspicious activity including yelling from outside on the 1900 block of Birchmont Drive NE. Officer checked the area and found nothing.

Friday, Oct. 25

Disturbing the Peace, 11:56 p.m.

Officers heard loud music and yelling coming from a garage from a distance of approximately one block on the 1500 block of Bixby Avenue NE. Officers spoke with the renters and informed them of noise ordinances. Renters agreed to turn the music down and tell their guests to be quiet.

Theft, 11:29 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of a theft. One adult male was arrested on the 100 block of 3rd Street NW.

Assault, 10:27 p.m.

Officer took a report of an assault at a local school.

Disorderly Conduct, 10:03 p.m.

Officers responded to a disorderly conduct fighting in Nymore, on the 1000 block of 7th Street SE. Male cited for underage consumption of alcohol.

Vehicle Calls/Complaints, 9:56 p.m.

Driver was arrested on several charges on the 600 block of Washington Ave S.

Assault, 8:23 p.m.

Female came to the Law Enforcement Center for an assault complaint. Subject changed her mind and left.

Sex Crimes, 3:11 p.m.

Adult female reported sexual assault.

Theft, 2:27 p.m.

Unknown subject noticed taking box from front steps and fleeing the area of 12th Street and Minnesota Avenue. No suspect could be located. Owner of residence not at home, left card.

Disturbing the Peace, 1:12 p.m.

Resident along Bemidji Avenue requested extra patrol to prevent drag racing and noisy vehicles.

Suspicious, 10:56 a.m.

Several suspicious letters received at hospital from unknown sender. No threats made, author appears to be mentally ill.

Burglary, 9:48 a.m.

Property damage to garage reported on the 1000 block of Jeannette Avenue NW.

Theft, 5:12 a.m.

Female issued a citation for theft and arrested for a warrant on the 2000 block of Paul Bunyan Drive NW.

Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office

Sunday, Oct. 27

Agency Assist, 10:32 p.m.

Attempt to stop assault suspect, vehicle pursuit ensued. Male party arrested without incident.

Suspicious, 8:10 p.m.

Deputies checked on male yelling and using profanity on the 600 block of America Avenue NW. Subject went to the Wolf Center.

Assist, 6:30 p.m.

Complaint that caller’s vehicle was not where her boyfriend said it was. Deputy located the vehicle and advised the caller where it was on Lakey Rd NW.

Theft, 1:59 p.m.

ATV and camper theft from hunting property on Battle River Road NE.

Violations/Court Orders, 11:59 a.m.

Adult male arrested for probation violation.

Welfare Check, 8:52 a.m.

Victim of assault discovered in Eckles Township.

Fire, 7:28 a.m.

Deputy responded to fire on the 1800 block of Popple Drive SE. No injuries.

Assist, 4:57 a.m.

Assist agency on locating a female knocking on doors on Kappes Lane SE in Cass Lake. Subject gone on arrival.

Saturday, Oct. 26

Welfare Check, 11:16 p.m.

Deputies responded to a request for a welfare check on the 5600 block of Alps Court NW. Three were arrested.

Animal, 7:59 p.m.

Responded to complaint of a bear in caller’s yard on the 1200 block of Birchmont Beach Road. Bear left without incident.

Welfare Check, 2:26 p.m.

Report of a suspicious male hiding behind a garbage can on the 100 block of Lake Avenue NE. Deputy provided male a courtesy ride.

Sex Crime, 8:33 a.m.

Juvenile sex crime investigation.

DWI, 4:42 a.m.

Traffic stop on two ATVs on Balsam and Nature Roads, one male arrested for 3rd degree DWI and driving after revocation.

Friday, Oct. 25

DWI, 11:34 p.m.

Traffic stop on 11th Street NW and Park Avenue, driver arrested for DWI, passenger arrested for drug possession.
