A White Earth man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for domestic assault.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 31-year-old Nicholas Durant was living with his victim on the White Earth Indian Reservation.
In April of 2020, Durant viciously attacked his victim. She was treated for lacerations, back pain and a traumatic hematoma of the head.
Durant pleaded guilty last October to assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
After his prison sentence, Durant will also spend three years on supervised release.
The ATF Bureau, the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office and the Mahnomen County Attorney’s Office conducted the investigation.
