Wisconsin man injured in Nisswa 100 snowmobile race

A Wisconsin man was seriously injured in a snowmobile crash in southern Cass County over the weekend.

Sheriff Bryan Welk says the crash on Sunday afternoon was during the Nisswa 100 Snowmobile Race.

Medical aid was immediately initiated by a number of agencies that were staging the event.

The 26-year-old patient was transported by helicopter to a Twin Cities hospital.

Lake Shore Police, Nisswa Fire & Rescue, Mission Fire, Crosby Ambulance and North Memorial assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
