Young man drowns in Lake Lomond

A young Bagley man drowned Sunday night on Lake Lomond.

According to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Derek McCann had reportedly jumped off the swimming raft at the public beach in Bagley and hadn’t been seen since.

The Sheriff’s Dive Team found his body three hours later in approximately 18 feet of water.

The Clearbrook/Gonvick and Bagley Police Departments, Sanford Air Med and Bagley Ambulance assisted at the scene.

McCann’s body was sent in for an autopsy.
