According to Minnesota’s Safe Learning Plan documents, Hubbard County’s new case rate per 10,000 people was 2.88 for the two-week period ending Aug. 15, down from 5.27 for the two-week period ending Aug. 8.
Even with a new case rate of under 10, which allows all students to return to in-person learning, additional safety precautions will be implemented, such as face coverings mandated by the state.
PARK RAPIDS
The Panthers are set to return to in-person classes starting on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Face coverings will be required for students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Lunch at Park Rapids schools will be different this year. From Kindergarten to 3rd grade, lunch will be “normal,” in grades 4-8, eaten in the classrooms, and for grades 9-12, students will spread out in the commons area. For PreK and Kindergarten students, breakfast and lunch will be served in their classrooms.

LAPORTE
In-person learning begins Tuesday, Sept. 8 for Laporte Wildcats.
Students will only eat lunch in their classrooms, and school buses will be kept to 50 percent of full capacity.
Laporte School will divide their hallways, and keep only one class on the playground at a time to limit congregating between groups.
During their last school board meeting, the board discussed a 2:20 p.m. dismissal time each day to allow staff time for students who opted-in to distance learning.

NEVIS
The Nevis School Board approved an in-person learning model during their last school board meeting on Aug. 27. Classes resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
According to school documents, the in-person learning scenario for Nevis students has students attend school in normal hours Monday through Thursday, with Fridays designated as distance learning days for all students.
For distance learning Fridays, no new instruction will be given, at least for High School students. Students will be able to connect with teachers and work on other assignments or large group projects.
Elementary student schedules will be sent home to families as each classroom will have its own schedule.
