March Foodshare Campaign underway

The Bemidji Community Food Shelf is asking for community support during the 40th Annual Foodshare March Campaign.

According to a release, the campaign is through April 11, with a partial match awarded to the Food Shelf based on total donations.

BCFS Executive Director Mary Mitchell says this is the most important fundraiser of the year, as it supports the food budget for the summer when donations are traditionally down.

A record number of visits at the food shelf was reported in 2020, with higher numbers expected to continue through this year.

Area businesses, families and organizations can help with the fundraiser by bringing in donations of food and money, which can be delivered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Food Shelf serves customers Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
