Authorities seeking information on at-large murder suspect after Becker County homicide

The victim of a homicide in Becker County Sunday evening was identified, as was the suspect who is still at large.

According to an updated release, the body of 35-year-old David Hanks, Jr., of Park Rapids was discovered in a vehicle in the village of Pine Point.

Authorities were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the report a person had been shot.

Michael Croud

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 40-year-old Michael Croud of Ogema, who was identified as a suspect in this case for second-degree murder.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence in Moorhead for further evidence, but Croud has still not been apprehended.

Anyone with information related to the incident or who knows the location of Croud should contact the Becker County Sheriff’s Office at 218-847-2661.

Per state statute, anyone that was found to be harboring or aiding Croud will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
