City of Bemidji construction begins Monday

The City of Bemidji’s 2022 Street Renewal project will begin this Monday.

A pre-construction meeting is scheduled for today. Notices were sent out last week. Four roads are slated to be reconstructed in stages: 10th Street Northeast, from Bemidji Avenue to Lake Boulevard; Dewey Avenue Northeast, from 10th Street to 12th Street; Ridgeway Avenue Northwest, from 30th Street to Paul Bunyan Drive; and a small section of Spruce Street Northwest west of Ridgway Avenue.

A trail on 23rd Street Northwest is scheduled to be out for bids soon, with construction expected after the 4th of July weekend.

Later on this summer, Industrial Park Drive will be reconstructed.

The contractor has five weeks to complete the resurfacing, water and sewer work but has the option to choose when to begin.

More advance notice will be provided when a formal start date is selected.

MnDOT’s Highway 71 construction project also begins Monday.
