The Frohn Eastside Cemetery will have a Memorial Day ceremony at 10:30 a.m. The cemetery is just east of the first Mississippi River bridge on Roosevelt Rd. SE. The ceremony will be conducted by the Cass Lake American Legion Honor Guard.
The Popple Bar & Grill in Laporte will hold a ceremony in downtown Laporte from 9 to 11 a.m. The Legion Honor Guard will hold an assembly with speakers, bell ringing ceremony. The Laporte Lions will sponsor a “drive-by” ham dinner from 9 to 11.
The Bemidji Community Food Shelf will be closed for Memorial Day, and will reopen on Wednesday, June 2, at 10 a.m.
The Bemidji Community “soup kitchen” will also be closed on Memorial Day.
Bemidji City refuse customers who normally have their garbage picked up on Mondays will have theirs picked up instead on Tuesday, June 1.
